Pellet mills for animal feed, biomass and waste
Pellet mills turn pre-treated raw material into pellets of uniform hardness. Amandus Kahl supplies flat die presses for the animal feed industry, for the processing of various kinds of biomass, for the chemical industry and for recycling.
The flat die leaves a large area in the pelleting zone, so every roller pellets immediately and transmits more power, which is decisive for light, fibrous materials such as wood, straw and waste.
The rollers turn slowly, so the material is compacted well and evenly; this determines pellet hardness and makes operation quieter. The structure of the raw material is no obstacle. Powder, fibre, lumps and paste pass through the same press, with a different die and different preparation.
Mixtures with a high share of fat and molasses pass through without difficulty, because the thick material layer and the large die area keep throughput high.
The mills pellet compound feed and mineral premixes, wood, straw and agricultural residues, powdered products of the chemical industry and municipal waste, sludge and compost, as well as by-products of mills and oil plants, bran, husks, press cake and dried beet pulp.
The model is selected according to the raw material, its moisture and the required annual capacity. For unusual materials Kahl has its own pilot plant, so before investing you can check whether and how your material pellets. If you need a complete line rather than a single machine, see the complete plant for wood and straw pellets.
